A clip of a Thai woman communicating with her mum through closed circuit television (CCTV) footage has gone viral on TikTok with over 1.7mil views, warming the hearts of the internet.
TikTok user Aum Aum (@aumaum1017) hails from Thailand’s Buriram Province. She now lives and works in the Chon Buri province which is around 400 km away from her hometown.
Aum Aum installed a CCTV in her family home so she can keep in regular contact with her mother. It also allows her to be assured of her mother’s safety, and allows them to feel close despite being miles apart.
Last week, Aum Aum took to TikTok to share a snippet of the CCTV footage, with the caption: “Missing my mum. [Wait for me] to save some money, and I’ll return home to give her a big hug.”
In the clip, her mum was seen waving to the camera and reaching out to give Aum Aum an air hug. She also sent Aum Aum a flying kiss, telling her: “I miss you, take good care of yourself” and “I love you” in Thai.
According to Thai media, the interaction happened at 8.30pm on the night of August 27. The video has since garnered over 250K likes and nearly 5K comments.
Netizens were touched by the close relationship between Aum Aum and her mum, with many saying the video “left them in tears”.
“I’m crying watching this. Do visit your mother when you can,” wrote one netizen, while another added: “I wish to have as close of a bond with my family.”
Now, who’s cutting onions?
